Among the six Tohoku prefectures, Miyagi Prefecture has the most glamping facilities, so much so that you may have trouble choosing where to stay
In this article, we will introduce one of these unique glamping facilities located in Togatta Onsen in Zao, Miyagi Prefecture
CHILL OUT GLAMPING ZAO (Togatta Onsen, Zao Town, Katta District)

Chill Out Glamping Zao which opened in April 2023 in Togatta Onsen, Zao Town, Miyagi Prefecture , offers glamping in dome-shaped tents and auto camping.

"CHILL OUT" means to relax and calm down, and it is a place where you can unwind and forget the passage of time while surrounded by nature and gazing at the starry sky

This facility is owned by Miyazushi
Although the facility does not have natural hot spring bathing facilities, there is a public bath in the hot spring town nearby that can be used
Two types of dome tents that offer the same comfort as a luxury hotel, even outdoors

The dome-shaped tents (for 2-4 people) placed on the wooden deck have large windows and are highly insulated, making them warm and comfortable even in winter
It is well-built with high ceilings and is spacious enough to comfortably fit four single beds inside

The tents are equipped with highly acclaimed Simmons beds, and you can relax on the low table and cushions while enjoying the view outside through the window
The rooms are equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a smartphone charging tower, as well as free Wi-Fi for your convenience

Amenities such as shampoo, cosmetics, toothbrushes, and razors are available in the management building as an amenity buffet
Chill out in a dome tent with a private jacuzzi!

There is a tent on the deck with a shower and a private Jacuzzi with a curtain, and you can enjoy the Jacuzzi 24 hours a day while wearing a swimsuit
If you stay in this tent, you will receive herb-scented DAMANA shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and body lotion

In addition, the jacuzzi tents are equipped with showers and toilets with heated toilet seats, so there is no need to go to the management building
Please note that tents without jacuzzis do not have baths, showers, or toilets, but in addition to the toilets and sinks in the administration building, each tent has its own private shower (with bathtub)
A rich menu including BBQ, sushi, and seasonal specials

There is a dedicated BBQ house right next to the tents, which is equipped with a BBQ grill, a roof and curtains, so you can enjoy BBQ even on rainy days

The BBQ of brand beef, brand pork, and local vegetables is so filling that you won't be able to finish it all, and there are two courses available: standard and deluxe

The standard menu includes Wagyu beef, Sendai's famous beef tongue, Miyagi Zao's brand pork " JAPAN X ," and seafood, while the deluxe menu includes upgraded Sendai beef and even more premium seafood.

Guests can enjoy fresh vegetables grown in the Chill Out Farm within the facility
BRING which has a reputation for being delicious locally , or a Japanese meal consisting of rice cooked in a mess tin (rice cooker), miso soup, grilled salmon, and seasonal vegetables. Both options come with coffee that you can grind and brew yourself.
Please note that meals for children (ages 6-12) will automatically be served on the "kids menu."
Optional nigiri sushi and seasonal menu

As an option, there is a plan where a chef from Miyazushi, the owner of the facility, will come to you and make sushi right in front of you, which is a rare and popular option for outdoor activities
Seasonal menus include sukiyaki and hot pot dishes made with domestic beef and local vegetables that can be enjoyed inside a tent in winter, and in autumn there is also a plan to taste the local B-grade gourmet dish imoni
Drinks are all-inclusive and all-you-can-drink!

An all-inclusive system will be introduced from May 2024, with the administration building's drink bar offering self-service all-you-can-drink from the welcome drink until 8:30 p.m
It's great that you can drink as much as you want during dinner, including soft drinks like juice and alcoholic beverages
They also sell original craft beer, so why not try it as a souvenir?
Chill out in the barrel sauna and cold bath!

A barrel sauna, which originated in Scandinavia, is a sauna shaped like a barrel, and its shape allows it to maintain an even heat distribution throughout the room
This allows heat waves to circulate evenly during loyly, so more and more glamping facilities are installing it as it allows people to enjoy a sauna in a comfortable environment
The sauna and cold bath can be used for one hour per group (up to four people) between 15:30 and 22:30 for a fee. Advance reservations and swimsuits are required
Chill out with your dog!

The number of pet dogs allowed to stay with you is up to three for small dogs and up to two for medium and large dogs. Meals are not provided, so please bring your own dog food that your pet is used to eating at home
The property has a large dog run surrounded by a sturdy fence, where your dog can run around freely and relieve stress

You can stay with your dog in pet-friendly tents, but the rule is to make sure your dog wears dog pants or something similar to prevent it from making a mess inside the tent
Pet amenities include a sticky roller, two pee pads, a cage, food and water bowls, deodorizing spray, and wet wipes, but it's also a good idea to bring your pet's usual bedding, toys, and treats from home
Firebit and illuminations

At night, the fire pit area is beautifully lit up with illuminations, and when you look up at the sky, it looks as if a sky full of stars is falling down

In the shared space, the " Bell of Happiness " emits a pink light, and a campfire is lit in the fire pit, creating a camping atmosphere.
Enjoy empty-handed auto camping

In the auto camping area, where you can drive your car onto the campsite, you can rent a full set of camping equipment, including tents (all Coleman products)
If you suddenly feel like going camping while out and about, you can come here and enjoy camping empty-handed
There are also regular tent areas set up for those with camping gear
