When you think of summer vacation, you think of the beach, the pool, and Hawaiianz!

So, as someone who has lived in Iwaki for 10 years and still visits Hawaiianz every year, I'll share some tips on how to make the most of your time there.

The History of Hawaiians Spa Resort, a Paradise of Everlasting Summer

Hawaiians opened in 1966 as the Tokiwa Hawaiian Center

that utilizes underground spring water from the Joban Coal Mine era and"Hawaii, the Island of Dreams." In 2006, the movie"Hula Girls,", was released and became popular.

Enjoy Hawaiians on a day trip

To enjoy Hawaiians on a day trip, first make sure you check out the free rest area

Hawaiians has few benches or chairs to rest on by the pool, and laying out picnic sheets is prohibited

During peak times, the park can be full before noon, so if possible, enter as soon as it opens and head to the rest area. Depending on how crowded it is, the free rest areas on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors will be opened. It's a good idea to lay down a picnic blanket to reserve a spot.
You can also eat lunch in the rest areas, so my family always buys pizza or hamburgers from the food court, or ramen or curry rice from the free rest area on the 2nd floor, and then rests there.
It's especially recommended if you have small children, as you can let them nap or take turns going to the pool.

To get to the free rest area, turn right after entering
The central hall

Stay and enjoy Hawaiians

Hawaiianz has hotels such as Hotel Hawaiianz Monolith Tower and Willport right next door, so guests can go back and forth in their swimsuits! Of course, you can play in the pool before and after check-in. You can also bring your hotel sandals and towels, so you don't need to bring any luggage, which is another great point.

Hawaiianz is open until 9:30 PM. Enjoying Hawaiianz at night is a privilege reserved for hotel guests.
I recommend the evening Grand Stage Show. It's spectacular and you won't be able to take your eyes off it from beginning to end!

Additionally, the "Large Open-Air Bath Edo Jowa Yoichi,"a projection mapping show is held at night, creating a fantastical space where the real world and the Edo period merge.

4 Recommended Hawaiians!

Hula Girl Show and Fire Dance Show

If you visit Hawaiians, you should definitely check out the "Hula Girl Show" and "Fire Dance Show"

The Hula Girl show, made famous by the movie "Hula Girls," is performed twice a day, in the afternoon and evening, with different content each time. The scenes reminiscent of the movie and the elegant hula dancing are so captivating that some people come just to see them.
In addition, the fire knife dance show offers a high level of performance. It's a thrilling and exciting show that will leave you breathless.

There are free seats available for the daytime shows. All seats for the evening shows are reserved. If you want to play in the pool until just before the show starts, it's a good idea to reserve a paid seat. Online reservations, where you can choose your seats in advance, are also slightly cheaper.

Aquarium Pool "Fish Go Round"

features an aquarium in the center of a lazy river where tropical fish and sharks swimThe "Fish Go-Round". You can enjoy the feeling of taking a stroll underwater with tropical fish. Let yourself drift along the lazy river while gazing at the aquarium. It feels just like taking a walk in the ocean.

There's even a heart-shaped aquarium!

Water slide "Big Aloha"

"Big Aloha" is the largest body slide in Japan, with a height difference of 40.5m and a run length of 283m. The starting point is the equivalent of the 10th floor of a building!

You can choose between the spiral line, where the speed increases, and the wave line, where the fear of not being able to predict what's coming next is addictive. There is also a foot bath next to the landing pool

Overwhelmed by the height!
Accompanying guests can relax in the foot bath

You can also enjoy hot springs

Spa Resort Hawaiiansuses 3.5 tons of fresh hot spring water per minute from Iwaki Yumoto Onsen, which boasts an abundant supply of hot spring water.Iwaki Yumoto Onsen is one of Japan's three oldest hot springs, along with Arima Onsen and Dogo Onsen, and"Sahako no Yu."is known as

I especially recommend"Dai Rotenburo Edo Jowa Yoichi,"
one of the largest open-air baths in Japan. It's incredibly spacious and has a charming atmosphere that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Edo period. It's one of my personal favorite places.

What to bring and what to be careful of at Hawaiians

What can I rent?

Swimsuits and swim rings are available for rental. Inflatable ring pumps are also available

Do I need beach sandals or a towel?

Shoes are not allowed poolside, but since you'll be walking long distances and going up and down stairs a lot at Hawaiianz, it's a good idea to bring flip-flops.
Also, while the temperature is set at 28 degrees Celsius year-round, giving you a tropical feel, the air conditioning inside the building is quite strong. In winter, the outside air comes in, and it can get cold if you're still in your wet swimsuit. It's a good idea to bring a towel to the poolside so you can dry yourself off if you get chilled.

How do I pay?

You can pay inside the building with cash, electronic money such as nanaco and WAON, and credit cards.
It's also a good idea to have some change ready for lockers and vending machines. There are also coin lockers available that allow unlimited access.

Can babies go in the pool?

The children's pool zone, "Waiwai Ohana," has a pool called "Angel's Water Pool" for babies who are not yet potty-trained. Babieswearing swim diapers can use it. There are also diaper changing and breastfeeding areas nearby.
