table of contents
Summer vacation brings to mind the beach, the pool, and Hawaiians!
The vast grounds of Spa Resort Hawaiians include a hotel, hot springs, a pool, and more, allowing you to experience the feeling of summer no matter the season. The highlight of the experience is the hula girl show!
As someone who has lived in Iwaki for 10 years and still visits Hawaiians every year, I'd like to share some tips on how to enjoy Hawaiians.
The History of Hawaiians Spa Resort, a Paradise of Everlasting Summer

Hawaiians opened in 1966 as the Tokiwa Hawaiian Center
the "Dream Island of Hawaii," and utilizes underground hot springs from the days of the Joban Coal Mine . In 2006, the film "Hula Girls," , was released and became a hit.

Enjoy Hawaiians on a day trip

To enjoy Hawaiians on a day trip, first make sure you check out the free rest area
Hawaiians has few benches or chairs to rest on by the pool, and laying out picnic sheets is prohibited
During busy times, the park fills up before lunchtime, so if possible, try to enter as soon as it opens and head to the rest area. Depending on how busy it is, the free rest areas on the second, third, and fourth floors will be open. It's a good idea to lay out a picnic blanket and reserve a spot.
You can also eat lunch at the rest areas, so in my family we always buy pizza or hamburgers from the food court, or ramen or curry rice from the free rest area on the second floor, and then rest there.
It's especially recommended if you have small children, as you can let them take a nap and take turns going to the pool.

Stay and enjoy Hawaiians

Hawaiians is adjacent to other hotels, including Hotel Hawaiians, Monolith Tower, and Hawaii Viruport , so guests can come and go in their swimsuits! Of course, you can also enjoy swimming in the pool before and after check-in. Another great thing about Hawaiians is that you can bring your hotel sandals and towels, so you don't have to worry about bringing too much luggage.
Hawaiians is open until 9:30pm . Guests staying at the hotel are able to enjoy Hawaiians at their leisure.
We recommend the Grand Stage Show at night. It's so exciting you won't be able to take your eyes off it from start to finish!
Additionally, the "Large Open-Air Bath Edo Jowa Yoichi ," creating a fantastical space where the real world and the Edo period blend together.
4 Recommended Hawaiians!
Hula Girl Show and Fire Dance Show

If you visit Hawaiians, you should definitely check out the "Hula Girl Show" and "Fire Dance Show"
The Hula Girl Show, made famous by the movie "Hula Girls," is performed twice a day, in the afternoon and evening, with different themes. Some people come just to see the elegant hula dancing and scenes reminiscent of the movie.
You can also enjoy the high-level performance of the fire knife dance show. It's a thrilling and exciting show.
There are free seats available for daytime shows. All seats are reserved for nighttime shows. If you want to stay in the pool until the very last minute, it's a good idea to reserve a paid seat. Online reservations, which allow you to choose your seat in advance, are slightly cheaper.
Aquarium Pool "Fish Go Round"

"Fish-Go-Land" is an aquarium in the middle of a lazy river where tropical fish and sharks swim . You can enjoy the feeling of walking underwater with tropical fish. You can relax and sway in the lazy river while looking at the aquarium. It's like walking underwater.

Water slide "Big Aloha"

"Big Aloha" is the largest body slide in Japan, with a height difference of 40.5m and a run length of 283m. The starting point is the equivalent of the 10th floor of a building!
You can choose between the spiral line, where the speed increases, and the wave line, where the fear of not being able to predict what's coming next is addictive. There is also a foot bath next to the landing pool

You can also enjoy hot springs
Spa Resort Hawaiians uses 3.5 tons of fresh hot spring water per minute from Iwaki Yumoto Onsen, which boasts an abundant supply of hot spring water. Iwaki Yumoto Onsen is one of Japan's three oldest hot springs, along with Arima Onsen and Dogo Onsen, and is known as "Sahako no Yu."
I would especially like to recommend the "Orotenburo Edo Jowa Yoichi."
The open-air bath is one of the largest in Japan and is very open. It has an atmosphere that makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the Edo period, and it's a place I personally love.
What to bring and what to be careful of at Hawaiians

What can I rent?
Swimsuits and swim rings are available for rental. Inflatable ring pumps are also available
Do I need beach sandals or a towel?
Shoes are strictly prohibited around the pool, but at Hawaiians, the walking distances within the building are long and there is a lot of going up and down stairs, so it's a good idea to bring beach sandals.
Also, the temperature is set at 28 degrees all year round, giving you a tropical feel, but the air conditioning is quite strong inside the building when you're moving around. In winter, outside air gets in, and it can be cold if you're wearing a wet swimsuit. It's a good idea to bring a towel to the poolside so you can dry off if you get cold.
How do I pay?
Payment within the building can be made by cash, electronic money such as nanaco or WAON, or credit card.
Be sure to bring coins with you for the lockers and vending machines. There are also coin lockers that you can use freely.
Can babies go in the pool?
The children's pool zone, "Waiwai Ohana," has a pool called "Angel's Water" for babies who are still in diapers. You can use the pool while wearing a water diaper. There is also a diaper changing area and nursing space nearby.

Hawaiians strategy summary

Hawaiians offers a tropical atmosphere all year round
In addition to the pool, there are shows and hot springs that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders. The layout of the Hawaiians is a little complicated, so first-time visitors may be confused. We hope you will refer to this article before you depart
Enjoy the everlasting summer at Hawaiians!
