The Yoneshiro River runs from east to west through the center of Noshiro City. It originates at Mount Nakadake (1,024m above sea level), which straddles Akita, Aomori, and Iwate prefectures, and flows through the towns of Kosaka, Kazuno, and Kitaakita.
