hot spring

[Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture] Osawa Onsen's hot spring spa "Seitai Club" with a history of 200 years! The quality of the spring water will make your skin beautiful!

In Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, there is a hot spring with the unusual name ``Jitaibu''. This is a hot spring spa at Osawa Onsen. As the name suggests, guests in the past made their own meals and stayed for a long time. Basically, you are allowed to bring whatever you want, such as futons and yukatas.

Osawa Onsen is home to the modern inn Sansuikaku and the wooden Kikusuikan. The oldest hot spring is the ``self-catering section'' of the spa.

This time, I will introduce this self-catering club.

Let's go to Osawa Onsen's hot spring spa "Seitaibu"

The building is made of wood and gives you a sense of its history. It was built over 200 years ago. It is also possible to use it for a day trip with the water flowing directly from the source. When you enter the entrance, what is impressive is the mask of a smiling old man and a son-in-law attached to the lintel of the rising stile.

The self-catering section has an interesting structure with multiple two-story buildings connected together. The inside of the building is more complex and spacious than it first appears. The corridors stretch out like a maze. There are a total of 57 rooms, ranging from large rooms to small rooms.

Let's soak in a hot spring that will make your skin beautiful

The room door does not have a lock. Therefore, when you go to a hot spring, you need to leave your valuables at the counter. The counter closes at 8:30 pm, so the hot springs will also be open until this time.

There are two hot springs in the self-catering section: an indoor bath called ``Yakushi-no-Yu'' and an open-air bath called ``Kawabe-no-Yu''. There are large open-air baths for mixed bathing and smaller ones for women only.

The men's bath is located under the spiral staircase. If you look at the hot spring analysis table posted, you will see that it is a hypotonic alkaline high temperature hot spring. The source temperature is as high as 51℃. It is alkaline at pH 9. It contains a lot of sodium ions and sulfate ions. This hot spring is recommended for women and can be expected to have beautifying effects on the skin.

The bathroom has two bathtubs. Both are tiled. The bathtub on the left has a shallow part. The structure allows for a sleeping bath. The ceiling in the bathroom is quite high. The spiral staircase descending can be seen through the glass.

The hot spring water is gushing out from the wall of the bathtub. The water has no odor and feels slimy when you soak in it. It feels moisturized and you can feel the beauty effect.

Summary about the self-catering section

This time, we introduced a self-catering club in Osawa Onsen that has a history of over 200 years. There is a self-catering area in the building, where you can actually make your own meals. There is also a restaurant called Yahagi, where you can also eat. It runs until 9:30 p.m.

The self-catering club, where you can feel the history of Osawa Onsen, has an atmosphere, smell, and melancholy that can only be found here. Please be sure to visit when sightseeing in Hanamaki.
