[M Prefecture] We enjoyed the "JoJo Exhibition in Morioh Town, S City 2017" early!

In August 2017, after five years, JoJo will return to Morioh Town!

Hirohiko Araki's original art exhibition "JoJo Exhibition in Morioh Town, S City 2017" is being held!

The highly successful "JoJo Exhibition," which concluded in 2012, is returning!
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the popular manga "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure," it will be held at the Sendai Mediatheque in Momiji-ku, Morioh-cho, S-shi, M-prefecture (Aoba-ku, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture)!
The exhibition will run for approximately one month, from August 13th to September 10th.
At the venue, you can see over 380 original color illustrations and manuscripts of the manga that were published in Shonen Jump.
Moreover, some of the exhibits will be changed after August 25th, bringing the total number of exhibits to approximately 500, double the number at the Sendai exhibition five years ago!

The highlight of this event is the area featuring parts 4 and 8, set in Morioh Town, Sendai (S City)!
The numerous original drawings and objects recreating scenes from the manga are a must-see!

We'll be giving you an early report on the appeal of the JoJo exhibition!

All the original color drawings from parts 1 to 8 are now on display! Works from before JoJo are also included!

When you step into the venue, the first thing you see is an exhibition of original artwork from before JoJo up to Part 8

These are rare original drawings from the early days that are rarely seen these days, including early one-offs such as "Armed Poker," his first serialized works "Beaty the Demon Boy" and "Baoh the Visitor."

Next up are the color original drawings from Parts 1 through 8, arranged chronologically.
These beautiful and cool color drawings, often described as works of art, are truly breathtaking.
Not only are there drawings that were actually published in Shonen Jump, but there are also works created specifically for the previous JoJo exhibition, so you might even see some pieces you've never seen before!

Enjoy the changes in Araki's style and touch from before JoJo to the latest Part 8 up close

The impressive Morioh Town area in S City, M Prefecture!

Once you leave the original art zone, you'll see a huge collection of comics!

In the middle of the large venue, giant sculptures of the comic book covers from each library of Part 4, "Diamond is Unbreakable," were lined up in an orderly fashion, and the manuscripts of famous scenes from each volume were on display

Nearby, you'll find objects that recreate small items and famous scenes from the film!
Here, we'll introduce some of them.

The image shows an object representing the sound of Echoes Act.1 saying "I hate you."
The color and texture are so well done that it makes you think, "If Stand abilities really existed, this is probably what they would look like."

Moreover, if you look closely at this object,

Even the furigana has been reproduced!

As you can see, the objects displayed in the Part 4 area are truly three-dimensional with incredible detail!

Many truly unexpected things have been recreated, so fans will be thrilled!
Personally, I was most impressed by the turtle sculpture from Part 4.
To create a 3D model of the turtle from Part 4 instead of Part 5, the staff really did a great job!

Once you cross the line marked "2011" at the end of the route, the world completes a full cycle.
Beyond that point lies an area recreating Part 8, "JoJolion."
You can walk around the Higashikata house, where the protagonist Josuke is staying, faithfully recreated from the manga, and admire the original color artwork from Part 8.

Both are incredibly appealing, but above all, the color original drawings from Part 8 are brand new and being exhibited for the first time.
Take your time to admire them and experience the world of Part 8.

My thoughts on the JoJo exhibition

So, having had the chance to experience the JoJo exhibition ahead of time, my impression can be"Di Molto Bene"!
The recreation of the Morioh area in particular was amazing, to the point where I almost mistook it for the real Higashikata residence appearing in this world from Part 8.
This feeling is something that can only be conveyed by seeing it for yourself!
Also, the "Morioh Shinpo Special Extra Edition," which is packed with information about the original artwork exhibition and distributed to all visitors, is definitely worth reading.

The "JoJo Exhibition in Morioh Town, S City 2017," which is so fascinating that it's impossible to fully describe it, will be held at Sendai Mediatheque from August 12th to September 10th.
Whether you're a fan or just starting out, be sure to enjoy it!
Please note that it will be closed on August 24th for artwork changes.
