The symbol of Hobara General Park! The roller slide is very popular with children

The specialty is the super long roller slide (Long Slider) located in Genki Hiroba!

It is characterized by climbing various athletic courses before arriving at the starting line of the slide located on a hill.
Children climb wobbly log bridges and net tunnels like ninjas. It might be a little difficult for adults... Of course, it is also possible to climb from the stairs, so both small children and adults can climb the stairs to the starting line at the top. However, the children dare to take on the difficult course and climb steadily to the top.

The wobbly log bridge is also flattened!

It's finally the starting line! Slide all at once from a height overlooking the park. It's thrilling for both children and adults.

The view from the starting line is amazing!

When sliding down the roller slide, cardboardYour butt won't hurt if you bring it with you. Adults who are heavier than children are especially likely to experience pain, so try laying out a piece of cardboard.

The sliding speed is not that fast, so even children can slide while adjusting the speed. Children climb and slide over and over again. There is a bench near the finish line overlooking the roller slide, so if your child is able to slide by themselves, parents can sit and watch from near the finish line.

In addition to the roller slide,There are two short roller slides that even small children can enjoy. There are also colorful circular tunnels, net play equipment, and a sandbox where you can play to your heart's content.

"Fruit Plaza" has plenty of play equipment for small children

"Fruit Square" is full of play equipment for preschoolers.

Lots of play equipment with fruit motifs! There is a separate zone from the children's playground, so you can watch over them with peace of mind.

Sumo tournaments are also held at the sumo ring.

Hobara General Park has a rare sight within the prefecture.sumo ringis installed.
A citizen sumo tournament is held at the sumo hall, with about 120 participants ranging from infants to high school students. In Date City, sumo is also actively held at elementary schools.

Date City Hobara History and Culture Museum

In the center of Hobara General ParkNationally designated important cultural property “Date City Hobara History and Culture Museum”there is.

It collects, preserves, and organizes historical and cultural materials related to the local area, holds permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions, and holds various lectures and hands-on events throughout the year.

The attached former Kameoka family residence is a quasi-Western-style building that retains the vestiges of the Meiji era. On July 25, 2016, it was the first building in Date City to be designated as a national important cultural property.
The exterior is Western-style, but the interior is purely Japanese. The elaborate craftsmanship clearly reflects the high level of skill and originality of the craftsmen of the time.
Inside the bay window, which can be said to be one of the characteristics of the former Kameoka family residence, there is a staircase that leads to the third floor, but if you look closely, you can see that there is a scratch on the staircase and a persimmon has been carved in that part. There are various other carvings all over the place, so it's fun to look around while looking for carvings.
