TOHOKU JAPAN's new video "Winter Lights in Tohoku" showcases the beauty of Tohoku's four seasons

The second promotional video for Tohoku following Autumn Colors in Tohoku

This video, created by filmmaker Nagakawa Yuki, is a sequel to "Autumn Colors in Tohoku," a joint project between the Tohoku Tourism Organization and the six Tohoku prefectures (Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima) that was released on YouTube at the end of last year and became a hot topic, garnering over 8 million views in just a week. Incidentally, the number of views for the previous video was the highest ever recorded in Japan for a regional promotional video made by a local government. Released in February, this video has already surpassed 8 million views

A wonderful 4-minute video that condenses the charm of winter in Tohoku

The approximately four-minute video contains many beautiful natural scenes, including snow-capped mountains such as Mt. Hakkoda and Mt. Zao, rural landscapes covered in pure white snow, the west coast of Oga, the Tadami River, and Lake Inawashiro. It also includes scenes of shrines and temples such as Iwakisan Shrine, Akiu Otaki Fudoson, and Zenpoji Temple, condensing the charm of Tohoku in winter, a season that is so unique it's no exaggeration to say

The breath of the people is conveyed through religious ceremonies, festivals, traditional crafts, etc

This video does not only feature landscapes, but also scenes of Shinto rituals and festivals such as Hirakasa Naked Mairi in Iwate Prefecture, traditional crafts such as Odate Magewappa in Akita, and oyster huts in Miyagi Prefecture. Through the many Tohoku cultures that have been passed down through the generations, you can get a glimpse into the lives of the people who live there, and it is full of charm that will make you want to visit the area, making it an excellent tourism promotional video

In addition to the YouTube channel, a special website is also currently available. (See below for details.)
