Tazawako Ski Resort is one of Akita's most representative winter spots. As the name suggests, this ski slope overlooks Lake Tazawa, and is spread out on the slopes of Mt. Komagatake.
The course is divided into sections for advanced to beginners, so anyone can enjoy it easily and safely. It is designed so that children can play safely, so many people visit with their families.

It is recommended to park your car at Kamoshika.
Tazawako Ski Resort has two slopes: "Kamoshika" and "Ginrei". There are parking lots available at each location, but we recommend "Kamoshika".
If you go from the foot of the mountain, the first stop is Ginrei. Therefore, it tends to get crowded. If you drive a little further to Kamoshika, the parking lot will be empty and the walking distance to the slopes will be shorter.

There is a small ski slope for little ones right next to the ski center "Lera". This is a place where you can play exclusively for sledding.
Many parents are afraid of letting their young children play in areas where adults are skating at high speeds. However, here, there are only small children on sleds, so you can play with peace of mind.
Let's go on a sled together and play in the snow
The sleds you can rent at Rera are relatively long, so you and your child can hop on the sled with plenty of time. Children get excited when they ride with them.
Please join us and enjoy sledding with your children. When children find something fun, they tend to want to do it over and over again.
It's perfect for adults who don't get enough exercise on a daily basis. Even though it's a small ski slope, you can burn a lot of calories by climbing up and down it repeatedly.
It can be difficult to get young children to try skiing or snowboarding all of a sudden. We recommend getting your dog used to the snow with a simple sled first, and then moving up to the snow.

Access from Tokyo by Shinkansen
The appeal of Lake Tazawa Ski Resort is that you can go empty-handed. If you take the Akita Shinkansen Komachi, you will arrive at the nearest Tazawako Station from Tokyo in about 3 hours.
From Tazawako Station, take the Ugo Kotsu Bus, which has a beautiful contrast of red and white. You will arrive at Tazawako Ski Resort in about 30 minutes.
The appeal is that you can go there to feel like you're going on a picnic. Not only do you need skis, you don't need any clothing, gloves, or hats.
You can rent everything from skis to clothing.

This ski resort is managed by FISCHER, a world-famous ski brand. Therefore, you can rent high-quality ski equipment in a stylish space.
You can rent a full set for 7,000 yen per day for adults and 4,200 yen per day for children.
Of course, we also have a wide selection of products for children.
We also have many board sizes for children. Since children are weaker than adults, it is a good idea to choose skis that are 10cm below their height.
For example, if you are 110cm tall, a 100cm ski will suit you. For snowboarding, a height of -20cm is good. In other words, if your child is 110cm tall, a 90cm snowboard is recommended.
In addition to size, if you are not sure which one to choose as there are many types, please consult the staff. They will kindly teach you with their specialized knowledge.
Conducting ski classes where you can learn from the basics
Tazawako Ski Resort offers lessons for adults and children called Tazawako Ski School. It is especially recommended for adults who have been skating for some time and children of elementary school age who are just starting out, as they can learn the basics thoroughly.
The half-day course (2 hours) is easy and popular. Admission is 4000 yen for adults and 4500 yen for elementary school students.
Roots of Tazawako Ski Resort
It has a long history and was opened in 1969. It is one of Japan's leading ski resorts, having hosted the National Athletic Meet and the All Japan Ski Championships, and the Mogul World Cup held every year since 2015.
We have repeatedly renovated our equipment. Therefore, it does not feel old compared to its history, but rather has a modern atmosphere.

In particular, since December 15, 2017, the ski center "Lera" has been renewed and has become more powerful.
The design is female-friendly, with a powder room and locker room for women only.
Furthermore, the restaurant on the second floor, "Shirakaba", which has been popular for some time, has Akita cedar used throughout and has a high ceiling, making it very stylish. The floor is a cool carpet and is designed to be non-slip.
Enjoy a warm meal at Shirakaba
At the restaurant "Shirakaba", "Lake Tazawa Ankake Ramen", "Yakitori-don", and "Omelet rice" are popular. The grilled cheese curry is also said to warm your cold body.
Many people enjoy Lake Tazawa's local beer, ``Tazawako Beer'' and ``Kohan no Mori Beer.'' If you haven't come by car, be sure to enjoy it.
Relax your mind and body at Mizusawa Onsen Village
Directly below the ski resort is the famous Mizusawa Onsen village. As soon as you step into the hot spring resort, you will suddenly be greeted by the smell of sulfur. Smoke is rising from everywhere.
There are many hotels and inns here, but Komagatake Onsen is one of the most symbolic and recommended. You can enjoy milky white sulfur hot springs in the open-air bath along the river. It is also rated as highly effective for medical treatment.
