Mt. Hakkoda is a collective name for multiple volcanoes located south of Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture, and is counted as one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains.
There is not a mountain named Mt. Hakkoda, but the volcanic group consisting of 18 mountains with Mt. Odake (altitude: 1584 m) as its main peak is called Mt. Hakkoda or the Hakkoda Mountain Range.

In addition to being able to fully enjoy the changing seasonal scenery and majestic nature from fresh greenery to autumn leaves, there are many wetlands dotted around the area that are a treasure trove of various alpine plants. is crowded with many climbers.
In the winter, it is a popular ski resort, and due to the heavy snowfall and seasonal winds, you can enjoy the snow-covered trees that are said to be the best in Japan.
There is a Hakkoda Ropeway on Mt. Tamoyachi (altitude: 1324 m), and from the summit you can see not only the majestic Hakkoda mountain range, but also the city of Aomori, Mutsu Bay, the Tsugaru Peninsula, and the lower Shimokita Peninsula. Masu.

Additionally, there is a promenade called the Hakkoda Gord Line that starts from the Hakkoda Ropeway Summit Station, and you can stroll around it with sneakers and other convenient equipment.
There are 1.0km walking courses in about 30 minutes and 1.8km walking courses in 60 minutes on the Gordline, and on either course you can see wetlands and various alpine plants scattered throughout. Masu. There are observation decks at various locations along the course, and there are few slopes on the course, so you can enjoy trekking with your family along with your children.
Another popular course is to extend your legs from the Gord Line and climb Mt. Akakura, Mt. Ido, and the main peak, Mt. Odake, before descending to Sukayu Onsen.
However, as it is an area with heavy snowfall, snow remains until around June, and there are many wetlands and muddy areas, so please be careful.

You can get to Hakkoda Ropeway Station by bus from Aomori Station, but National Route 103, which connects Aomori City and Lake Towada, is a driving route where you can enjoy the scenery of each season, so you can take a drive in your own car or rental car. We also recommend visiting the famous places while having fun.
