Social media is becoming an inseparable part of our lives. Instagram, in particular, is exploding in popularity, especially among young women, due to its stylish atmosphere. Recently, subjects that receive a lot of attention from users when uploaded to Instagram are referred to as "instagenic." In this article, we'll introduce some recommended instagenic spots in Tokyo!
This retro cafe is sure to be a hit on Instagram!
Our first recommendation is "Jewel Box," a traditional Japanese coffee shop located near Chitose-Karasuyama Station on the Keio Line. The charming, retro interior décor makes you feel like you've traveled back in time. Popular songs from the 1970s play from the speakers, and bookshelves and racks are lined with periodicals, creating a thoroughly Showa-era retro atmosphere. The must-try item here is the "cream soda." While melon flavor is often associated with cream soda, the peach flavor is apparently the most popular. This girly drink, featuring a pale cherry-colored soda topped with ice cream and a cherry, is sure to be Instagram-worthy. Please note that the cafe only has eight seats, so if you want to be sure of a seat, we recommend contacting the cafe and making a reservation. The reservation status is updated on the cafe's website, so it's best to check before you head out

The downtown vibe is surprisingly popular! Instagrammers, check out the back alleys!
While photos of coffee shops and beautiful natural scenery are classic examples of Instagrammable photos, back alley photos are also popular on Instagram. One place we particularly recommend is Shinjuku's Golden Gai. This alley is packed with restaurants and cafes, and at night the neon lights come on, instantly transforming the alley into a vibrant scene. Even if you normally upload "orthodox" Instagrammable photos, if you take and upload these extraordinary photos, the contrast may spark a positive response! When taking photos in a neon-lit area, be sure to use a smartphone or camera that's suitable for nighttime photography
